October HTC meeting to feature forum on area homelessness and the hospitals

This month’s Hillcrest Town Council meeting will be held next Tuesday, October 12 from 6:30-8:00pm in the Joyce Beers Community Center. The group’s mission is to provide a voice & enhance the quality of life for Hillcrest renters & homeowners while supporting actions that benefit the neighborhood.

6:30 Introductions of HTC board & members
6:35 Public Comment
6:40 Elected Official Reps & Community Organizations
6:50–7:05 Water Conservation Presentation
7:05–7:45 Forum on the Role of the Hospitals and the City of San Diego in Serving the Homeless and Indigent…and its Effects on the Hillcrest Community. Participants: David Guss, MD, Chair of UCSD Emergency Medicine Department; Jim Dunford, MD, Medical Director for the City of San Diego; Jennette Lawrence, Director of Government and Community Affairs for Family Health Centers; Scripps Mercy Hospital will also have a representative on the panel.
7:45 Committee Reports — Neighborhood Improvement Committee by Tim Gahagan; Development Hillcrest Town CouncilCommittee & Community Plan Update by Roy Dahl; and the Route 163 Robinson Street Exit Update by Luke Terpstra.

Babbo Grande Restaurant will provide complimentary pasta dinners for all in attendance. All are welcome. Hillcrest residents are encouraged to attend. The meeting will adjourn at 8pm.

The Hillcrest Business Association’s annual meeting will proceed the HTC from 5-6:30pm.
