Last night area residents and/or property/business owners gathered at Joyce Beers Community Center in the Uptown District to select seven boardmembers to Uptown Planners four-year terms. Current boardmembers seeking a third term needed 2/3 of the vote to be re-elected. Those elected were: Allen Edwards, David Gatzke, Bob Grinchuk, Jay Hyde (third term), Don Liddell, Andrew Towne and Mary Wendorf (third term).
The group examines issues including: historic preservation, parks & open space, zoning variances, traffic & parking, community plan amendments and long term planning. They will guide plans for projects and start a major update to the Community Plan. The results will affect every resident.
