Nearly 50 residents gathered at the Joyce Beers Community Center (Vermont Street north of Cleveland) yesterday evening for the July meeting of the Hillcrest Town Council. An interesting
resentation was given by Brianne Cross re: SD Historic Streetcars followed by Mike McLaughlin (left) discussing the soon-to-be-formed Uptown parking advisory. HTC will receive two seats on the board which oversee 45% of the parking meter money; Rich Gorin explained the mess at the 163 interchange at Robinson & Tenth. The city has promised to remove the K-rails soon and will not move forward with their plans to put in a pop-out.
The town council also distributed new orange t-shirts to volunteers wanting to march in Saturday’s Pride Parade to promote Monday morning’s clean-up when the Hillcrest Clean Team will put the shine back on Hillcrest beginning at 7am. Meet on Park Blvd just south of University Avenue.
