City Council candidates Stephen Whitburn and Todd Gloria have pitched in on past volunteer efforts… and you can, too, from 9am-noon this Saturday.
Meet at 8:45am on Park Boulevard south of University Avenue (near the Egyptian) to help the Hillcrest Town Council and the Hillcrest Clean T.E.A.M. sweep the sidewalks and gutters of the community for our next quarterly clean-up. Brooms and other supplies will be provided for the three-hour effort to spruce up our neighborhood. The first two dozen volunteers to show up will receive a free orange t-shirt. As a bonus you’ll also receive a greater sense of community pride. Councilwoman Toni Atkins has arranged for a dumpster to be available across the street in the parking lot of Numbers (3811 Park Boulevard). Clean out your garage, but no paint, electronics or appliances will be accepted.
