OB resident Patty Fares who is found leading walking tours around San Diego, recently took an adventure to South America. Along with hubby Rusty, she traveled from Punta Arenas, Chile, on the Strait of Magellan to Torres del Paine Park in Chile and on to Glacier National Park in Argentina before dipping down to Ushuaia on the Beagle Channel (all location inside Patagonia). The penguin photo at the left was taken in Ushuaia, Argentina (nicknamed “El Fin del Mundo” or “The End of the World”). The big bird is with the local tourism agency, and it wanders the streets at the end ot he world handing out tourist brochures.
Mark your calendars: on Friday evening, April 18 when Patty & Rusty will be presenting a free program on “Patagonia’s Park & Penguins” at the Joyce Beers Community Center for the Sierra Club. Everyone is welcome.
