Three seats were up for election for terms of four years on the Uptown Community Planning Committee on Tuesday evening at the Joyce Beers Community Center. Well over 200 community members packed into the Community Center 
to place their vote on the ballot.
The running candidates were:
1. Hirsch Gottschak (Banker’s Hill)
2. Ruth Harrison (Hillcrest)
3. Peggy Mazzella (Hillcrest)
4. Janet O’Dea (Mission Hills)
5. Sean Schwerdtfeger (Mission Hills)
6. Jim Sidorick (Hillcrest)
Each candidate was given three minutes to introduce themselves and their areas of focus. All ballots were turned in and counted during the remainder of the meeting. The results are in. Hirsch Gottschak (Banker’s Hill/ Park West) and Peggy Mazzella (Hillcrest) were re-elected, while Janet O’Dea (Mission Hills) was voting in for her first term. The Uptown Planners offered the other candidates a seat on the Design Review Committee. Ruth Harrison of the Hillcrest Association accepted the position.
