On Valentine’s Day a group of same-sex couples gathered at the Hillcrest Colonnade before walking over three miles (down Sixth Avenue along the park to Broadway, through downtown to the County Administration Building) asking for the right to marry.
For another year, they were turned away. Officials suggested contacting the governor.
(Better take
a bus!)
Local marriage equality activists made their point, too!
It was a big day at City Hall filled with lots of love and couples wanting to marry.
Ken Kramer was there.
…but once again several same-sex couples were unable to make their commitments legal (even after a three-mile march from Hillcrest).
