Here’s some favorites from last Saturday’s Taste of Uptown.
• City Deli reported 670 brownies and lemon squares were devoured.
• Margarita Mary’s wins our prize for the most festive restaurant, and they’re not even “officially” open. They served margaritas and quesadillas to the masses.
• Taste of Szechuan for Patrick’s yummy cream cheese wontons.
• David’s Coffeehouse patio again provided the best place to relax and eat an assortment of tasty cakes (and assorted caffeine beverages) under cover of the occasional spring shower.
• Chef Deborah Scott who will have a recipe in HillQuest volume two was hard at work in Kemo Sabe’s kitchen creating their famous potted brownies to the crowds delight.
• The parsley scallion hummus at Whole Foods was “oh so tasty.”
• Taste of Thai served a delicious array of samples.
• At Ben & Jerry’s everyone was giddy as they picked their favorite ice cream flavor.
• Rocky Mt Chocolate Factory had a line out the door waiting to dip strawberries.
• Sushi Itto, Nami and Ono Sushi all shared Japanese taste treats to the throngs.
• Mama Tesa served up the most unusual…steamed potato tacos and colorful salads.
