Area residents discussed the big pride flag that is proposed for Normal & University and voted 13-4-2 to support it. A friendly amendment was made to approve a shorter version, but Sean Sala (maker of the motion) declined the compromise.
Also discussed at the February meeting, held Tuesday evening, was a presentation by Rich Gorin re: Goals from the HTC development committee. During introductions, everyone in attendance shared one thing that they loved about Hillcrest. The list included: public pageantry; the Hillcrest Town Council; it’s a fun place; bookstores; historic character; innovative, imaginative people; sexy streets; the Clean T.E.A.M; activists; Hillcrest sign; our engaged community; friendly, welcoming people; diversity; old houses; it’s walkablity; and that Hillcrest has a great volunteer base. The next HTC meeting will be March 13 from 6:30-8pm.
