As the nation’s seventh largest LGBT Pride event, SD’s celebration will bring over 150,000 participants through Hillcrest. Saturday’s parade kicks off at 11am from University Avenue and Normal Street…traveling west to Sixth Avenue, then south to Upas. People begin lining the streets early, so if you want a great view, plan ahead. Parking can also be an issue. Wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen and bring a bottle of water. From festooned drag queens to Dykes on Bikes, scantily clad go-go dancers to proud members of PFLAG, a diverse swath of culture is represented in this popular annual procession. Grab a comfortable seat along the curb early, and don’t forget your camera!
