The Hillcrest Centennial kicked off last night with a neighborhood sock hop at the Joyce Beers Community Center. Sandy and Alex (left) had great outfits and were presented centennial mugs for their stylish efforts. Local Realtors Trent St. Louis and Tony Azar sponsored Friday’s event along with food contributions from Ralphs, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Baja Betty’s and City Deli. Mike Friedberg and Richard Pereya of Decor with Distinction transformed the Uptown meeting hall into an amazing party palace. HillQuest created a slideshow of area images through the years as DJ Laura Jane played everyone’s favorite tunes from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s.
