Looking for a unique gift? Members of the San Diego Potters Guildwill be holding their biannual sale in Balboa Park on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm. Located in the plaza of the Spanish Village, the sale features thousands of pieces of hand-made ceramics by many of San Diego’s finest potters.
All of the items are one-of-a-kind. Works range from functional ware such as plates, bowls and coffee cups to more decorative and sculptural forms like ceramic shoes, garden lanterns and conch shells. Prices range from a handful of dollars to a few hundred. Spanish Village is located south of the Zoo on Village Place. Sales are conducted twice a year on the second weekend in June and November in the colorful plaza of Spanish Village. This is by far the largest pottery sale in San Diego and is the best time for the general public to see and/or buy what their members make, as well as offering an opportunity to meet the potters in person.
