Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 6th) an election for the Board of Uptown Planners will be held at the Joyce Beers Community Center (map 6-B). Residents, property owners & business owners may vote with proper ID (driver’s license, utility bill, tax bill, business license or rent receipt — any document that has the individual’s name and street address.)
Nine candidates are currently running. Each will present a statement of their qualifications/background at the beginning of the meeting. They include: 1. Ernestine Bonn (University Heights) 2. Allen Edwards (Hillcrest) 3. David Gatzke (University Heights) 4. Bob Grinchuk (Hillcrest) 5. Jay Hyde (Hillcrest) 6. Marilee Kapsa (Bankers Hill/Park West) 7. Don Liddell (Bankers Hill/Park West) 8. Andrew Towne (Hillcrest) 9. Mary Wendorf (University Heights). The seven candidates who receive the most votes will be elected; however, any current member of the board who is seeking a third term must receive 2/3 of the vote to be re-elected. Have questions?
