Merkley (not H.W. Mitchell). Actually the mortuary has been around since September 14, 1915 with our original address of 3757 Fifth Street (then University Undertaking Parlors). In 1917 Mr. H.W. Merkley purchased the mortuary so that is why we promote that we have been open since 1917.”
