Anyone seen Hillcrest’s Javotte? This sultry strawberry blonde mannequin, always dressed in tasteful outfits or seasonal costumes (at Halloween she masqueraded as a witch) has been a balcony fixture for more than a year at the second floor railing on Third Avenue between University and Robinson. Sadly someone recently abducted the beautiful Jovette in her Veterans Day outfit — a black dress with brass buttons and a Navy hat.
Her caretaker, Jim Ruboyianes, doesn’t know whether someone lassoed her or scaled the building to the balcony, but he awoke to a crashing sound shortly after 1am and looked out to find a broken stand and one of her hands. Her right arm was recovered on the ground.Jim and Javotte’s owner, Glen Davis, have received no ransom notes or leads and hold little hope of getting her back. Please keep your eyes open around the neighborhood for her safe return.
