This year, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon is attempting to set a world record for the largest number of running Elvi. The current record is 48, set in 2006. The HillQuest counter thinks the old record is toast. The music began at 6am, but the travel around San Diego will be tied up for several hours. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon kicked off in Balboa Park at 6:30 this morning threading north on Sixth to Robinson then through Hillcrest before winding the 21,000 participants around San Diego. It will end at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Unless you’re wearing running shoes, mind the map on this link (and avoid the runners) if you don’t want to get stuck getting around town.
