All local residents are asked to attend the January meeting of the Hillcrest Town Council from 6:30-8pm this Tuesday at the Joyce Beers Community Center in the Uptown District. Items on the agenda include an update on area crime with reports from the business association’s hired security guards (Off Duty Officers, aka ODO) and their role in our community, Stonewall Patrol (a community volunteer organization) and the San Diego Police Department, who will share their perspective and how residents can play a role in fighting crime in our neighborhood.
Another featured topic will be area development. (1) Juli Peters-Hyde, chair of the HTC subcommittee will give a report; (2) B. Michael Seidel, will be sharing an update on the Interim Height Ordinance; and (3) Leo Wilson, chair of the Uptown Planners will present an overview of highrise projects that have been proposed for our neighborhood (i.e. Tower on Fifth, shown, which is planned for the east side of Fifth Avenue at Walnut).
