“Ohana” is Hawaiian for “family”…and the Hillcrest History Guild would like to invite the entire Hillcrest family to Hula’s, the neighborhood’s newest hot spot, for an afternoon party this Sunday, August 31 from 2-6pm. The fun-raiser will showcase the popular beach bar’s new menu with free samples delivered by celebrity servers…and music from a steel band, hula dancers from North Park’s Halau Hula Na Lei ’O Liana who will give lessons, followed by a hula contest with prizes, Midori and Grande Marnier shave ice, a live auction for great stuff including three nights in Maui, lunch at Hula’s with City Council candidates Todd Gloria and Stephen Whitburn or City Attorney Mike Aguirre, surprise guests, raffles and more. The $10 suggested donation is only $5 if you wear an aloha shirt. Each donor will receive 2 tickets for $1 cocktails and a free raffle ticket. What a deal…Join in the fun at Hula’s, 142 University Avenue (at Third), this Sunday!
