This year’s community holiday feast on Tuesday, December 14 will begin at 6:30 in the Joyce Beers Community Center (Vermont Street north of Cleveland). Babbo Grande is cooking our turkeys and making stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, Porkyland will be providing a tray of enchilladas, Bread & Cie lots of artisan loaves (left), City Deli a freshy baked cake…you get the picture — loosen your belt, it’s gonna be a community feast.
And you’re invited…just bring a dish to share. Salads and vegetable dishes would be a great addition. Or if you have a special recipe to show off your culinary skills, this will be a wonderful opportunity. The Hillcrest History Guild is donating four turkeys, utensils, plates, coffee and water with additional treats donated by area restaurants.
After dinner ~ local film maker Dan Soderberg will be showing his award-winning documentary, “Four Decades of Historic Preservation in San Diego”. Dan spent a year researching the project and interviewing members including SOHO founder Robert Miles Parker. It will be a a fun evening for neighbors and friends. Hope you can join us for the festive camaraderie and celebrate the season.
