Bright and early at 7am, two dumpsters will be available at Rich’s (1051 University Avenue) to help Hillcrest residents get rid of junk. Read what is OK to bring. They may fill up quickly, so please arrive early. As a bonus, Flexcar has donated the use of a truck for Saturday’s use…so we will be picking up items for our neighbors (as much as is possible). Call (619) 260-1929 before Saturday to arrange a pick-up.
At 9:30am volunteers will form groups at two locations: (1) Park Boulevard south of University and (2) in front of Rich’s (1051 University Avenue). You will be given coffee/snacks, tools and a team map. We’ll be finished at noon, then Urban Mo’s is thowing us a thank you party.
Everyone who pitches in to help sweep neighborhood streets, will receive a free t-shirt and a greater sense of community pride (plus the party). Join other friends and neighbors make our community look better! Thanks to the Hillcrest Centennial, City Councilwoman Toni Atkins, SDG&E and the Hillcrest Town Council for sponsoring this event to spruce up the neighborhood one week ahead of the San Diego LGBT Pride Parade (Saturday July 21).
