Want to help plan the neighborhood of our future? The Hillcrest Business Associationannounces the fourth workshop in its series of neighborhood forums to chart the future of San Diego’s urban environment. Topic: “What will Hillcrest Look like: Designing Design Guidelines” at Kip’s Cafe (3925 Fourth Avenue) next Tuesday evening. The city is developing a plan for the next 20-30 years. As part of this process, the HBA is organizing a series of workshops to develop the future of one of San Diego’s most beloved neighborhoods. The physical appearance of new buildings and new development can greatly affect the character of Hillcrest. Good design can include everything from the bulk and scale of new buildings to trees, streetlights, trashcans and even the sidewalk itself! The Hillcrest business community invites you to join us to hear architect Mark Steele talk about the benefits and uses of neighborhood design guidelines and participate in a discussion on design in Hillcrest. We’ll also be “designing” our neighborhood through an interactive exercise.
