Chocolat is chosen for this year’s Movie on the Roof
One week from tomorrow (Wednesday, August 3)…bring your friends, folding chairs and blankets to the parking lot atop Hillcrest’s Whole Foods Market at Seventh & University for the fifth annual free night of community fun with a movie screening under the stars.
This year’s featured film Chocolat, an Academy Award nominated movie, will be shown at dusk. It’s a delightful story of a single mother and her six-year-old daughter who
move to rural France and open a chocolate shop (with Sunday hours) across the street from the local church…and are first met with some skepticism. But as soon as they coax the townspeople into enjoying their delicious products, they are warmly welcomed.
Come early, bring a picnic, order a pizza or enjoy the hot/cold food bar for only $5.99/pound. Free chocolate delectables and movie snacks will be provided. The gates will open at 7pm with the film starting about an hour later. The annual free movie will again be brought to you by the Hillcrest History Guild, Whole Foods Market and HillQuest Urban Guide.
