Free admission to 4 great Balboa Park Museums today
What lucky duckies we are to have this fabulous park for our big backyard! And as a bonus (on a rotating schedule) several museums offer no admission to San Diego on Tuesdays. This week enjoy the Art Institute, the Museum of Man, the Museum of Art and the Mingei International Museum which is dedicated to the understanding and appreciation of “art of the people” (mingei) from all cultures of the world.
Their art shares a direct simplicity and reflects a joy in making, by hand, useful objects of timeless beauty that are satisfying to the human spirit. The Museum collects, conserves and exhibits these arts of daily life — by unknown craftsmen of ancient times; from traditional cultures; and by historical and contemporary designers.
