As promised the Parks & Recreation Department, Therapeutic Recreation Services sponsored a great day of activities including some “funky” games, prizes, entertainment, a charming, children’s dance program, a variety of vendors, selling their wares and lots of eats. During the Saturday afternoon fun, the Brass Key & Wind Band led by Lucy Jensen (right) played some great music from the Big Band Era. The group has been performing together for several years….entertaining the masses with sing-alongs, too!
Kathy Aceves (left) was grateful to her staff of three Supervising Recreation Specialists, five Recreation Therapists, Clerical Assistant and nineteen Recreation Leaders whose job it was to oversee and coordinate all activities with the multitude of program participants. Sadly, this was their final Holiday Carnival. Kathy and her staff can be proud of a great ending to a long history of holiday carnivals which began in 1983.
