The monthly meeting of the Hillcrest Town Council (HTC) was held at the Joyce Beers Community Center this evening. Presentations included a L.I.O.N. (Let’s Improve Our Neighborhood) award to Filbert Vigil (at left with longtime friend Ruthie) for saving a heritage tree on Richmond at Pennsylvania.
Developer, Bruce Leidenberger asked for (and received) support for demolishing the vacant medical building at Third & University to add 25 new parking spots to the corner lot. Hillcrest residents also voted to fill three board positions. Candidates Anne Haule, Dave McCulloch and Ann Garwood were elected to the board. The evening ended with a presentation by the new Revivals resale store on University at Centre.
