Over 100 people attended a retirement party Monday evening for former Hillcrest Business Improvement Association (HBIA) Executive Director Warren Simon who stepped down last month after over 20 years at the helm of the HBIA. The party was held at the Top of the Park Manor Suites Hotel in Bankers Hill. Best wishes and community resolutions were presented on behalf of Mayor Jerry Sanders, State Senator Christine Kehoe and Assembly Member Lori Saldaña. Third District Councilmember Todd Gloria also presented a resolution to Warren Simon on behalf of the city council. Past and present Hillcrest business owners and HBIA presidents reminisced about Warren’s career in Hillcrest. In recognition of 20 years of service, the current board gave their former director an elegant wristwatch to add to his collection.
