Thousands of activists marched from the heart of Hillcrest to the LGBT Center Wednesday evening to celebrate the historic legal ruling that struck down California’s Proposition 8 law banning same-sex marriage. Many gathered at Sixth & University for the 6pm march down University to The Center, where a Town Hall meeting was held.
“I am very optimistic about the outcome. Equal protection is in the Constitution for just this reason,” explained Fred Karger ofCalifornians Against Hate. The decision was long overdue.
