The 89-year-old Hillcrest Business Association held their annual meeting Tuesday evening at the Joyce Beers Community Center. Elections were held for half of the board of directors and officers. The new executive committee are President Nancy Moors (HillQuest); Vice President Nick Moede (Rich’s and Numbers); Secretary Robert Grinchuk (The Wine Lover); and Treasurer Glenn Younger (Grah Safe & Lock). Newly elected board members were Johnathan Hale (Hale Media), Jessie Thomas (Cafe Libertalia), Pete Katz (Katz Real Estate) and Alex Marin (Bamboo Lounge/Tdeli). Re-elected to another term were Ronald Baranov (Baranov Properties), Robert Schrader (Fifth Avenue Books), Mike Wright (City Deli), Younger and Moors.
During regular business, the board voted unanimously to go on record in opposition of the Mid-City Rapid Bus Project which would result in a loss of parking spaces.
