Comments on the HTC meeting

Hillcrest Town Council meeting, February 8, 2011“I think most agree that Tuesday night’s Hillcrest Town Council forum was interesting and provided a variety of perspectives on fixing the city’s budget crisis…but what do we do next? Thanks to all the organizers.” — Ben Cartwright

“Prof. Gin stated that San Diegans are cheap — We are not cheap when we vote down throwing more money to the City that constantly overspends. As DeMaio states, ‘Reform before Revenues.’ Of course, my hero is still Aguirre. I am happy that he has resurfaced and is still out there fighting the Darth Vaders in and outside City Hall. I would like you to hold another forum on redevelopment. I will bring a whole bunch of handouts on ‘Redevelopment: the Unknown Government.’ Brian Peterson from Grantville would be great on the panel; Aguirre again; Kevin Faulconer who supports it and Nathan Fletcher who did the midnight ‘Pork Fest.’” — Ernie Bonn

“Thank you ever so much for the wonderful program you sponsored Tuesday night. Now if only we could have more of the same in regards to redevelopment!!!” — Kitty Callen

“It was a very excellent HTC meeting! It captured everyone’s interest and he Hillcrest Town Council should all be proud. The room was filled with good energy. Hillcrest is a very special place in the world, and it is very exciting to be a part of it!” — Trent St. Louis

“I very much enjoyed this month’s HTC meeting. Great theatre!!” — Mark

“This was a forum to remember and remind us what democracy is all about.” — Thanks, Mike Aguirre

“Very good program. Thank YOU!!!!” — Gloria Johnson

“Congratulations to Carl DeMaio, Michael Zucchet, Mike Aguirre, Scott Lewis, Alan Gin, Hillcrest Town Council, Hillcrest Business Association, GSDBA, Nancy Moors and Ann Garwood for a FABULOUS presentation on the City Budget this evening. An educated and engaged electorate is the backbone of democracy.” — Linda Perrine (you did a great job, too, Linda!)

— You’re welcome to continue the dialog in HillQuest’s community forum. —
