The 9th annual community holiday potluck dinner hosted by the Hillcrest History Guild who partnered with the Hillcrest Town Council and the Bankers Hill Community Group was held Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 6-9pm at the San Diego Indoor Sports Club, 3030 Front Street in Bankers Hill. The dinner was filled with fun, frolic and loads of yummy food.
The evening began with Boogie Woogie Queen Sue Palmer who filled the clubhouse with holiday music as plates were piled high with tasty treats. Following dinner, this year’s main presentation was given by retired USD professor Nancy Carol Carter who has extensively documented Balboa Park’s formative horticultural figures. Nancy, recently honored by the Friends of Balboa Park with their Millennium Award, shared her insight on Kate Sessions‘ connections to the neighborhood.
